What’s involved in the eye exam?

Everyone’s eyes are different so we tailor the eye examination to your individual circumstances.

Following a detailed discussion of your previous history and present symptoms, the eye exam may then include the following elements and tests 'where appropriate' and based on our professional assessment of your visual requirements.

Retinoscopy; Refraction; Ophthalmoscopy; Digital Photography; Electronic Visual Fields; Intraocular Pressure

Fithyan and Saxby, Optometrists in Bishops Waltham

The practice is fully computerised and well equipped with state-of-the-art technology, in addition to the rather more reassuring, sensible and experienced optometrists.

Following your eye examination we will give you an explanation of your vision and ocular health and a copy of your spectacle prescription. We will recommend when you should attend for your next examination.

Details are entered on our computer database and a reminder letter will be sent when your next examination should be.

If there is a problem, you may be referred to your doctor or the Hospital for further investigation.

An experienced local consultant ophthalmologist is available in Bishops Waltham by appointment if necessary.

If you are unable to attend the practice through illness or disability, we are able to arrange to examine you in your own home. Please talk to one of our receptionists to discuss this if needed.
